The Norinco Type 92, or WZ-551, is a wheeled personnel carrier introduced in the mid-1980s for the People's Liberation Army. There are two primary variants under the Type 92 designation. The original Type 92 did not meet expectations, leading to significant upgrades. The enhanced version entered combat in 1995.
