It proved to be an old cache of more than two thousand coins. The treasure's estimated value in current dollars is $240,000. Some could counter that the find is extremely valuable due to its significance. It's not like you unearth anything over a millennium old every day.
2. The Retaliation of Queen Anne
Value as of right now: unknown
Year Vanished: 1718 Year Found: 1996
Not every treasure that is discovered at the ocean's bottom is worth a lot of money. For historians, it can occasionally be worth just as much as a gold bar. The Queen Anne's Revenge was captained by the infamous pirate Blackbeard, but the ship sank in 1718.

It was discovered in 1996, somewhere off the coast of North Carolina, but it wasn't confirmed until 2011, many years later. A sword that many believe may have belonged to Blackbeard himself is among the types of treasure discovered; even though it isn't filled with emeralds, this blade is still rather spectacular.
